SEWING CLASSES
Do you have a sewing machine sitting there collecting dust? Want to learn how to use it but are afraid of it? We’ve got some options for you.
Up Coming classes for July and August
Held Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
at the Western Fair Farmers Market 2nd Floor
Mom and daughter/son: 6 week session which will allow you to make 1 item each week except the last week we’ll make a simple sundress. Each class is $25.00 this includes all material and necessary embellishments etc. If you have a machine bring it, if not you can rent one for $25.00 each week at the end of the 6 weeks it’s yours.
Week 1 - getting to know your machine and sewing tea towels. This is a very simple project but uses measuring, straight stitching and ironing
Week 2 - apron - one for daughter - one for mom
Week 3 - denim purse - moms and daughter work together to make one purse
Week 4 - re-designed jeans for daughter
Week 5 and 6 - a very simple sundress for daughter
MAXIMUM SIX STUDENTS PER CLASS
Option 1:
Bring your machine to the market on Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. or Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and for only $10.00 I’ll spend a half hour with you to show you how to get your machine threaded, some trouble shooting and other little tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years.
Option 2:
Make a denim purse. For only $25.00 you can sew a stylish denim bag for yourself. I have been collecting denim for the last 2 years to create my own denim designed fashions. I’ve had several requests for denim bags so I’ve decided to hold classes. For $25.00 you will be able to pick the denim you want as well as lining fabric and embellishments from MY STASH.
Option 3:
Stop paying $80.00 or more for a pair of jeans that fit you like a glove. Pick a pair of denim jeans from my stash and jazz them up with colourful fabrics and trims. We'll even make some nips and tucks to make them fit just the way you want. All this for only $25.00 per class. Register for as many classes as you want. How many unique pairs of jeans do you want?
Option 4:
Make your own stylish burlap purse, small for everyday use, medium for just a little more or large for the beach. Register on line today. Each class only $25.00 all supplies included. Need a machine? Check out the machine rental option below.

Let me know what you’d like to learn to sew and I will be happy to add those classes too. There won’t be lots of sitting and listening to instruction. I don’t like a lot of book learning and plan to do a lot of show and sew and learn as you go classes.

Don’t have a machine and would like to purchase one?
I will have excellent White brand sewing machines, fully serviced and with a 90 day guarantee for $150.00 each. These machines will take and sew just about anything you put under their feet and won't go out of time. $150.00 is a little more than you can afford while signing up for sewing? Pre-pay for 6 classes and rent a machine for $25.00 each night you come and at the end of the 6 classes the machine is yours. However, rented machines must remain with me until fully paid for.
